2008 Artists
Roger Lynch & Roger Whitmore

A familiar face at the gallery, Roger Lynch has been an ardent supporter of the Studio, his design skills and technical expertise have been much appreciated - Roger is a highly skilled, leading digitally based web designer and illustrator. He worked in residency and curated Roger Whitmore in his following show - FOLK

Roger Whitmore is a self-taught local artist. With no formal training some critics have refered to the work as naive however his practice does reference influences in modern art at the turn of the 20th century and pocess a graphic uniform quality. Roger's work was very popular in the 60's and 70's, he exhibited at the Worcester Gallery on three occasions and was a mainstay at the MAC in Birmingham. He was well known amongst his peers and well regarded in reviews, he also has many works in private collections.
In recent years Roger has found it difficult to show his work in Worcester. It has been a frustrating period as the City is a focus of his work, which he regards as his main audience. He has never sought new networks or gallery representation.

Nick Ranga - This Method Acting

Fragments - text extract

I am not an artist. I am a Human Being who makes art.  Being an artist (a Human Being who makes art) does not lift me above being Human.  Making art does not lift me above being Human.  Making art is a normal, everyday act.
